WoW Rogue Guide

Hey, this is MikemanX,

Are you looking for some info on how to level a rogue?  If you’re on the hunt for the best rogue leveling guide out there, I’ve already done the grunt work and written down all my findings here about the simplest way of getting your rogue from level 1 all the way to 80.

The build I’m about to show you is a combat rogue spec, it’s the best spec you can go for if speed is your priority.  But as good as this is, it’s nowhere near as good as a complete wow rogue guide.  I have made use of a rogue leveling guide myself to level my rogue and if you’re the type that hates to level or just wants to power level your way to 80, I’d recommend you give it a look.

Now as we said before, we’re going to be going with a combat rogue spec, here’s how the distribution is handled:

Combat Talent Tree

Improved Sinister Strike 2/2
Dual Wield Specialization 5/5
Improved Slice and Dice 2/2
Precision 5/5
Endurance 2/2
Improved Sprint 2/2
Aggression 5/5
Blade Flurry 1/1
Sword Specialization 5/5
Weapon Expertise 2/2
Blade Twisting 2/2
Vitality 3/3
Adrenaline Rush 1/1
Combat Potency 5/5
Surprise Attacks 1/1
Savage Combat 2/2
Prey on the Weak 5/5
Killing Spree 1/1
Subtlety Talent Tree
Relentless Strikes 5/5
Opportunity 2/2
Camouflage 3/3
Serrated Blades 3/3

Assassination Talent Tree

Malice 5/5
Blood Spatter 2/2

Now that we’ve got that covered, the other thing we need to figure out is what the best attack sequence is for leveling.  With the rogue, this is as simple as it gets:

Open with: Backstab/Garrote -> Use Slice and Dice -> Use Sinister Strike 1-5x -> Finish with Eviscerate/Rupture

Believe it or not, that simple rotation is so effective, you can use it all the way to level 80.  Sure you can throw a few other things into the mix, but this basic rotation maintains it’s power.

Now when I started leveling a rogue, I initially used this WoW Rogue Guide, I thought I had it all figured out….

But I Was Leveling SOO Damn Slow!

It was so annoying.  Here I did all this research into what I felt was the best Wow Rogue Guide and it was as if I was missing something as I was getting bored leveling by level 15.

I asked a friend and fellow guildie who’s good at this stuff what he did to level up fast and he mentioned the best wow rogue guide that helped him out was the Team iDemise Leveling Guide.

What Is The Team iDemise Leveling Guide?

After hearing from my friend, I did some research and found out this guide was actually an in-game mod that you could run inside of WoW, an add-on actually.  What it would do is place a green arrow in front of your Rogue telling you where to go to pickup quests, kill monsters and where and when to turn the quests in.  By following along, you’re essentially leveling up at the optimal leveling speed.

You also see it laid out on your mini-map and you also get a written dialog box that shows you the steps you need to take, so for example, you may see:

Kill 8 Bloodspore Harvesters in the Borean Tundra for “Vermin Extermination” at (42,12)
Obtain 8 Tempest Motes from Enraged Tempests for “Motes of the Enraged” at (35,44)
Turn in the “Vermin Extermination” Quest to Scout Tungok

Now even though this worked well as a WoW Rogue Guide, it wasn’t perfect, here were the issues I had:

CONS:

  • You get the in-game guide but they also at one time had a useful HTML guide as well.  They’ve since taken this down though.
  • They need to give you more videos detailing how to do the most difficult WoW quests.  Also, while there is some class specific leveling info, I feel like they should have added more.

PROS:

  • In  version 2 of the Map Mod that’s part of this add-on, you can see all the steps you need to take to level laid out visually.  You also get to see the steps written down in a dialog box.
  • A large green arrow is placed in front of your character which leads you to what you need to do next, doesn’t get simpler than that.
  • The guide isn’t a hack or cheat so you don’t have to worry about getting banned by Blizz.
  • You can use this guide for your rogue or any other class.
  • You get lifetime upgrades to this software and access to a members only forum where you can talk about the program or just talk strategy.
  • You get a 60 day money back guarantee.

Final Thoughts:

If you’re still struggling to level a rogue, or you just don’t want to go through the pain and headache of slow leveling, you should have a look into the Team iDemise Leveling Guide.
I’ve been using this guide myself for my last 7 characters, each time I use it, I’m able to get to level 80 anywhere from 7-10 days of in game play time.
